My folktale

Once upon a time there lived a young boy, in a little village, Sandio, near the stream. He was very lazy and had no respect for others. People used to call him a little Donkey because he was very stubborn. Whenever he wanted something, he had to have it or when his mother told him to go to his room and study, he never listened to her. He loved to play with toys and especially with his sister's dolls. He used to brake her dolls and fight with her. He was very mean to her. All the time he was watching TV. He was always late to school. When the teacher asked him something in the class, he never knew anything. He was talking in the class and never paid attention. Every day he was after school in detention because he used to bother girls and say very bad things to them. On the tests he always failed and when he cheated the teacher always caught him. He was a very bad boy. In addition, he never did his homework. When he was writing he made big spelling mistakes and was the dumbest in Math. When the teacher asked him how much is two plus one, he use to say 12 or when the teacher asked him what is an animal, he kept silent. Everybody at home got worried and kept telling him to study, but he didn't listen to anybody. There was nothing the parents or uncle or even grandparents could do. This was the kind of boy he was and nobody could make him better. His parents even got worried asking themselves what kind of boy would he be when he grew up. Nobody knows. But Donkey was like that, Donkey never worried about anything and did whatever he wanted to. However, he didn't listen to anybody because he thought that he was the smartest in the world.

One day after dinner he found out a way out of this situation. "I know," he thought. "I know what to do. Hej! Go for it, be brave!" He yielded to himself. Every book that he had he put under his pillow for the whole night. He thought that before the sun came out everything would come into his head. Therefore, he put his books under that pillow and jumped to his bed and he went to sleep. He slept for a long time. In the morning he woke up very late and was late to school as always. First he washed his teeth and his face then he ate the breakfast. One, two, three ... got dressed. His father kissed him on the head. So he went fast upstairs to his room and took out his books. Not knowing what he took, he ran out fast from the house and while he was running everybody was looking at him and were shaking their heads. When he got to school everybody was already in their chairs and were ready to start the lesson. When he entered the class, the kids started to laugh. He sat in the chair and he realized that he took a pillow with his books. He got embarrassed and he could do nothing. Therefore, he took the pillow, rolled it up and put it under his desk. Then the teacher was ready to start the lesson and so was the rest of the class. First they read the story, after they finished the teacher started to ask questions about the homework. "Today I will ask you, Donkey," she said. "What is a mistletoe?" He stood up and kept silent like he always did. "It is a bird." The sound came from his desk. The teacher couldn't believe her ears, but she kept asking him questions. "Tell me, Donkey, what kind of book did you read yesterday for the homework?" "Beautiful story called Cinderella," again the sound came from his desk because his mouth was closed. The teacher said, "Tell me, Donkey, what is under your desk that knows everything to my questions?" Donkey got nervous and started to cry. "It is my pillow. I took it by mistake this morning with my books because I put my books under the pillow," said Donkey. Now the teacher knows everything. Everybody started to laugh at him. Even the teacher was laughing at him. It was so funny that the pillow could talk like that.

Donkey got so embarrassed that he run out of class and never came to school unprepared. He always did his homework and was nice to everybody. He never cheated on the tests again and was always answering the questions in the class. Therefore, he listened to his parents and was nice to everybody, especially to his sister.
