SETTING:

In Central Highlands of Vietnam, in the restaurant

INTENTIAL EVENT:

They were in the restaurant and a rascal began to insult grandfather because he looked weak and had a pretty wife. He wanted to leave but grandmother pulled his shirtsleeve and signaled him to remain seated.

REACTION:

He wanted to leave but grandmother pulled his shirtsleeve and signaled him to remain seated. Grandmother continued to eat and looked as if nothing had happened.

GOAL-SETTING:

The rascal got up and he grabbed his chopsticks. Grandmother immediately wrested the chopsticks from him and struck the rascal on his cheekbone with her elbow.

ATTEMPT TO REACH GOAL:

Instead finishing him off, as street fighter would do, she let the rascal recover from the blow then before he could do anything else, she kicked him on the chin, and it was hard that he collapse on the ground.

OUTCOMES:

While the rascal's friends tried to revive him, everyone else surrounded grandmother and asked her who had taught her Karate. She said her husband. She didn't want everybody thinks that her husband is weak man.

RESOLUTION:

After the incident, he never had to worry again. Anytime he had some business down town, people treated him well. They also bowed to him in a very respectful way.

MOOD:

I think that this story was great. It was very funny because of the way the grandmother was fighting. I never expected a grandmother protecting her husband. It is just funny.
